IAC students attend National Grid Energy Efficiency Conference & Expo
IAC students John Hilla, Josh Huizinga, Meghan Reilly and Chuck Walck attended the Upstate New York Energy Efficiency Conference & Expo presented by National Grid on September 19th, 2012. The event was free for all National Grid customers and was loaded with energy related presentations and exhibits. The students were able to talk with lighting, air compressor, boiler and chiller manufacturers, all presenting the most energy efficient technologies available. The exhibitors were all very enthusiastic about the IAC and were eager to work with the program.
In the morning, John and Meghan attended a seminar presented by Fulton Boiler about condensing boiler basics including design and operation while Chuck and Josh attended a seminar on opportunities for energy management systems presented by Trane Co. After lunch and mingling at the various exhibits, Josh and Meghan walked across the street to the War Memorial Arena, home of the minor league ice hockey team Syracuse Crunch, to view the new LED lighting array recently installed. In the afternoon, all four students attended a seminar on the top ten ways to save energy in compressed air systems presented by Comairco.
