IAC students attend Lead Student Meeting in Atlanta, GA
On October 31st, 2012, John Hilla and Meghan Reilly, two SU-IAC students, traveled to Atlanta, GA to attend the annual IAC Lead Student Meeting. The two day conference from November 1st-2nd contained presentations by the Department of Energy, IAC students and recruiters. Due to Hurricane Sandy, representatives from the program’s field office at Rutgers University were unable to attend but luckily all 24 IAC centers were represented. John and Meghan gave a presentation on SU-IAC training procedures for which they placed in the top three student presentations.

One change from past meetings was the conference’s concurrence with the World Energy Engineering Congress. The WEEC is a large energy convention held by the Association of Energy Engineers. This year, IAC students were given time to explore the expo and meet and network with energy consulting firms, utilities and numerous vendors ranging from the latest lighting technologies to energy recovery systems for compressors and boilers. In addition, IAC students were invited to a special breakfast held for students attending the WEEC to network with AEE staff.
